Scented Sugar

I just found a perfect gift idea for the summer months - not helping us now I'm afraid... but a great idea none-the-less. Start with an edible flower, my favorites are roses and lavender. Organic ones would be ideal, otherwise make sure they are food safe. Place coarse sugar and the flower petals in a glass jar and seal tightly. Place in a cool, dark room for a couple of weeks. Shake often.

Tie with a pretty ribbon. Use to sweeten lemonade, iced tea, or just add a dash to a refreshing glass of water.

Good thing we just doubled our lavender bushes out front. I'm trying this one out as soon as possible. Lavender sugar all around for summer gifts!
