Lapbooking Round 2

Our next adventure into lapbook land is Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. The front cover has our title and a bible verse. Little Man felt that a Sun & Moon were imperative to the proper execution of this project. We made room... and labelled them for future reference.

Inside we have a diamond shape drawn by Little Man, a pocket of counting planets, and an S book filled with the letter 's'. We also later added stars and a constellation book. Hubby is in charge of locating the constellations for them in the night sky. I might also note that I am thankful that we did this following the change to day light savings time. The back of the lapbook has a large pocket with a large yellow star; to be used as a prop during performances.

One item of resistance that I initially had was that I thought these lapbooks would be just a large arts & crafts project without much active learning. I feel that the following skills were used and/or reinforced by this lapbook: color recognition, number recognition, letter recognition, bible verse, scissor skills, and counting skills.
