One of my favorite activities is making snacks together. They tend to be the fun snacks =) I'm not of the school of thought that includes cooking as science or math lessons. But you can't beat the hands on measurement practice =) We made this recipe a bit ago:
1 pkg yeast
1 T sugar
1 1/2 c warm water
4 c flour
1 t salt
1 egg, beaten
Mix water and yeast together until yeast dissolves. Add salt, sugar and flour. Mix and knead the dough until it is smooth. Roll and twist as desired. Place on greased cookie sheet. Brush with beaten egg and lightly salt as desired. Bake at 425 for 12 - 15 minutes. Enjoy!
Little man and I made a lion. Little Pixie made a tree and...
Her brother. Whom she ate. He cried that she was eating him. Little Pixie then changed the person's name to "A boy we both know..." This seemed to pacify Little Man and we were all able to finish our snack happily.
