Has your family read this book? If not it is a must! The book centers around a family's search for their missing dog. It has enabled us to have many conversations about how our family would feel if a child were missing. We've discussed safety measures to keep all members of our family safe. These are of course conversations that can happen without Ginger Pye, but the visuals are such an asset. The children lying in bed, unable to play their normal night time games because they are unsure whether their little dog is cold or wet or safe or not. This is a wonderful not scary conversation starter - which just so happens to build vocabulary and share other growing up life lessons. Just thought I'd share what's in our library bag this week!
