Jesus gave them this answer: "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. ~John 5:19
Jesus says: the Son can do nothing by himself... Just to give context, this is in response to his working miracles on the Sabbath. But the words just keep ringing in my brain... the Son can do nothing by himself... We think we can do all sorts of things by ourselves. Isn't that just hysterically funny... ludicrous.. when you think of Jesus saying these words, yet us attempting to make our own plans? What are plain old sinners going to do on our own? Make big fat messes? Do we really fancy ourselves more capable than the Son of God? He does what he sees His Father doing... and does it. We often see what God is doing and run the other way... what a bad idea!!
